Story

This weekend I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon and raising money for Sue Ryder charity. Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition.

This year one of my very good friends Elle lost her fiancé Chris, after his brave and courageous battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. The Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice were great support to Chris, Elle and their families and showed compassion throughout this heartbreaking time. The money raised will help the Sue Ryder charity to continue to devote their time to provide the utmost care and compassion to people going through the most difficult times of their lives.

Many of you won't actually know I had a breast cancer diagnosis last year and I have struggled to get back into training since treatment and ongoing medication. Only recently have I had a second wind and started getting into training again and decided to actually go ahead with the race. With that in mind I thought it was important to raise as much money for an important cause. I count my blessings each day for the effectiveness of my treatment, but know not all cancer stories have the same ending and I want to raise money to support families going through this. I'm running this in memory of Chris.

Please donate what you can, not because of the run and the time, but for the cause.

Thank you in advance.
